Abstract:Objective: To analyze the correlation between antibiotics use density (AUD) and acinetobacter baumannii (A. baumannii) drug resistance in our hospital so as to provide reference for rational drug use in clinic. Methods: A retrospective statistics was made on the A. baumannii drug resistance and antibiotic use in our hospital from 2011 to 2016. Pearson and Spearman correlation tests were performed to analyze the correlation between AUD and A. baumannii drug resistance. Results: A total of 14 972 strains of pathogenic bacteria were isolated during 2011―2016, there of, 1 642 strains were A. baumannii. The detection rate was 10.97%. The use densities of piperacillin-tazobactam and imipenem were positively correlated with the A. baumannii drug resistance rate (P ≤ 0.05), while the resistance rates of other drugs were not clearly correlated to AUD. Conclusion: The use of piperacillin-tazobactam and imipenem is one of the key factors resulting in drug resistance of A. baumannii.
